Project Roles

Project roles are unique roles assigned to the project members for efficient project management. Different roles have different levels of access or permission to the project.

Responsibilities
Project Admin
This role has full control over project management. Besides accessing all projects, the role can build, update, and delete projects and manage project members.
Project Manager
This role has full control over the projects to which they are assigned. Besides accessing the projects assigned, the role can update and delete the projects and manage project members
This role may contain fewer or more access permissions depending on how the SDAdmin configures it.
Team Leader
This role has milestone-level access permission within a project. Besides viewing the milestones assigned, the role can update the milestones and manage tasks.
This role may contain fewer or more access permissions depending on how the SDAdmin configures it.
Team Member
This role can access and work on tasks to which they are assigned.
 

Create Project Role 

  1. Go to Setup > Customization > Project Management > Project Role.
  2. Click New Project Role.
  3. Enter a name for the project roles. This is a mandatory field.
  4. Describe the project roles details and usage.
  5. Define access permissions by selecting the access level check boxes for projects, milestones, and tasks.
Access Permissions
Description
Full Control
Enables View, Add, Edit and Delete permissions for all projects. Provides complete access to the user Projects module.
View
Enables the user only to view the projects. They cannot perform any operation.
Add
Allows the user to perform add projects.
Edit
Enables the user to perform edit projects. The user cannot perform add/delete operation.
Delete
Allows the user to perform delete projects. The user cannot perform add/edit operation.
 

Info
If Add/Edit/Delete permissions are  enabled, the View access level is automatically enabled.
Project Roles are common for all customers 
View option for Tasks cannot be disabled because it is mandatory for a project role. 

  1. Define access permissions for project member:
    1. All Projects - All projects can be accessed by the project member.
    2. Associated Projects - Project members can access only projects associated with them. Milestones and tasks in the associated projects are also accessible to the project member.
    3. Associated Milestones - Project members can access only milestones associated with them and the tasks in the associated milestones.
    4. Associated Tasks - Project members can access only tasks associated with them
  2. Click Save.

To edit/delete project role, click beside a project role name.

You cannot delete Project Admin and Team Member roles.
