Milestones

Milestones

Milestones allow you to group tasks and ensure the project is moving in the right direction. Adding Milestones is the first step to creating a project. They help outline the entire project and present a clear picture of the tasks involved by allowing project members to design the Task Hierarchy and Task Dependency. Completion of a milestone is a major step toward the completion of the project.

Scenario:
Consider an IT Test Environment Setup Project:

An IT test environment setup can be split into:
  1. Database Configuration
  2. Workstation Configuration
  3. Test Network Configuration
These major events outline the entire project and will have tasks known as Milestones.

Advantages:
  1. Uninterrupted workflow with no delays
  2. Proper classification of tasks, their relationships, and dependencies.
  3. Clear presentation of 'who does what, when, and for how long'
