Under Setup, you can configure the following entities for the Spaces module.
Space Types
You can create templates for most commonly added space types such as campus, structure, floor, room, and facility service. For example, you can create a space type for a school campus, laboratory building, or pantry, etc. You can add required fields in these space forms to collect any extra information.
To create a new space type,
- Go to Setup
> Customization > Space Management.
- Select a preferred space type. For example, if you want to create a type for campus, select Campus Type. The campus type list view page is shown.
- Click New Campus Type. The new campus type form is displayed.
- There are two sections: Details and Fields.
- Under Details, enter a name and a description and click Save. After saving the details, the Fields section will be available.
- Under Fields, drag and drop the fields from the right pane to add new fields to the form.
- Click Save.
By default, some of the fields are auto-populated. You can retain them or delete them.
Note: You cannot delete certain fields such as Name, Status, or Site.
You can also add new sections and fields to the type form by using the New Field / New Section option in the right pane.
Room Booking
Configure settings to schedule and manage room bookings in your organization.
Role required: SDAdmin/SDSpaceAdmin
To configure room booking settings,
- Go to Setup > Customization > Space Management > Room Booking.
- Fill out the fields as explained below.

| Enter the minimum duration (in minutes) for which a room can be booked.

| Enter the maximum duration for which a room can be booked. You can configure the duration in hours or days.

| Specify the maximum duration in months for which a room can be booked in advance.

Booking Interval
| Enter the minimum amount of time (in minutes) to be considered as the interval between bookings.

| Select the template to be used when a service request is created for a room booking.
Only service templates containing the Spaces field will be listed.
The selected service template cannot be deleted or disabled in the service desk instance.

Create Request Before
| Select a time before the booking duration to create the service request.

- Click Save.
Amenities
Under amenities, you can add facilities or resources available in a space such as the ATM, Dining, Cab services, etc. Amenities created here can be added to all spaces.
To create amenities,
- Go to Setup > Customization > Space Management > Amenities.
- By default, there are a few amenities already created. You can edit or delete them.
- To create a new one, click New Amenities.
- Enter a name and a description.
- Add an existing icon or import your own icon for easier identification.
- Click Save.
Space Status
Here, you can create custom statuses for the spaces, for example, based on availability. By default, there are five statuses: Active, Inactive, Close, Under Construction, and Under Maintenance.
To create a new space status,
- Go to Setup > Customization > Space Management > Space Status.
- Click New Space Status in the header menu.
- Enter a name and add a description about the status.
- Choose a color code and click Save.
Criticality
Under criticality, you can add any critical resource that might cause harm to the space. For example, you can add a high voltage source or a radiation source. Criticality created here can be associated with spaces later.
To add a criticality,
- Go to Setup > Customization > Space Management > Criticality.
- Click New Criticality and enter a name and a description.
- Add an icon for easy identification and click Save.
Room Layouts
Add various layouts for rooms present in your organization, such as classroom layouts, theater layouts, etc. The layouts created here can be added to rooms later.
- Go to Setup > Customization > Space Management > Room Layouts.
- Click New Room Layout. Enter a name and a description.
- Add an icon for easy identification and click Save.
Space Area Units
You can add and use your preferred area units such as acre, square foot, square yard, and etc., for defining and calculating spaces. By default, the application will have the sq.meter unit.
To add a new space area unit,
- Go to Setup > Customization > Space Management > Space Area Units.
- Click New Space Area Unit on the header menu.
- Enter the area unit and click Save.
