Create & Manage Projects

ServiceDesk Plus MSP Cloud allows you to create and associate incidents and changes to projects to achieve specific goals or objectives of the organizations.
 

Create a Project 

  1. Go to Projects and choose the customer from the filter in the header.
  2. Click New Project to open the New Project form. You can also access this form from Quick Links in the application header.
  3. You can use the default project template or choose a project template from the Select Template drop-down. Project templates associated to the specific customer will be displayed in the drop-down. Learn more about customizing project templates.
  4. Specify the Project Title, Description, and Project Code
  5. Select a Project Requester. If there is a Site and Department associated with the project requester, it will be auto-populated in the respective fields. You can change it if need be.

The Site and Department fields will only be displayed in the New Project form for the MSP Customer. 
  1. Select the Project Type, Status, and Priority.
  2. Enter the Estimated Hours and Actual Hours to record the planned and real-time taken for project completion.
  3. Enter the Estimated Cost and Actual Cost to record the planned and real-time expenditure towards the project.
  4. Record the progress of the project in the % Completed field.
  5. Specify the Schedule Start and Schedule End dates of the project.
  6. You can fill in the Actual Start and Actual End dates upon project completion to record the real-time.

The scheduled and actual dates of the project completion help determine if the project is on schedule, delayed, or ahead of schedule. This information will be shown on the project list view page.
  1. Enter the Projected End planned date for project completion.
  2. To upload attachments to the project, click the Attach File icon . By default, this option will open a pop-up to attach files from the computer.
    1. To attach files from the Cloud, click and select Attach files from Cloud.
  3. Click Save after you have configured the details.
