Associate Domains with Instances

Associate Domains with Instances

In the ESM Directory,
  1. Click Service Instances on the left pane.
  2. Click Actions > Edit under the required instance.
  3. From the Customer Service URL drop-down, select the required domain and click Save.
You can associate multiple instances with a domain.
  1. If users accessing the domain have marked one of the associated instances as their default instance, they will be redirected to that instance only.
    1. Users who have not marked any default instance will be redirected to the default instance chosen by OrgAdmin.
  2. If users specify an instance name in the domain URL, they will be redirected to that instance only if they have access to it.
  3. Users accessing the domain without an instance name will be redirected based on the number of instances associated with that domain:
    1. If the domain is associated with only one instance, users will be redirected to that instance only.
    2. If multiple instances are associated, the redirection works based on users' settings:
      1. Users who have marked a default instance for their account will be redirected to that instance. Otherwise, they will be redirected to the ESM Portal home page.
  4. If OrgAdmin has marked a custom service URL as default, instances with no custom service URL will be mapped with that URL. This URL will be used in email notifications for those instances.

SSL Certification

SSL certificate will be automatically applied to secure your domain. The SSL certification process initiates immediately after the custom domain is created.
Typically, custom domains and SSL certifications are validated within one business day.
You can track your SSL certification status from the ESM Directory > Organization URLs if needed.

Info
Once the SSL is certified and updated, the application will run only in HTTPS mode. We will implement the SSL certificate and enforce HTTPS for the custom domain using a multi-domain certificate on our servers.
