Asset Details
View all details of an asset, including the financial and contractual data and historical records. Technicians with edit permission to the asset can spot-edit field values in the details page.
To view details of an asset,
- Go to Assets.
- On the left pane accordion, expand the required category and click the required product type.
- Choose the required customer from the customer filter in the header.
- Click the required asset name in the list to view its details.
- On the right pane, you will find the key details of the asset, such as customer, associated life cycle, workflow, last scan status, asset state, product, and purchase order details.
- You can use the toolbar for the following:

Asset Relationships
Asset relationships help you track the dependencies of an asset and provide visibility over how an asset is structured within a customer's IT infrastructure.
In the Relationships tab, you can map and track the following asset dependencies:

Connected Assets
| Assets that are connected to the current asset through a network or integrations.

| Standalone assets that are directly connected to the current asset. The state of these assets will be changed to In use after they are attached.

To map the connected assets and business services, click the plus icon

on the relevant card under the
Connected branch and select the required assets and business services from the drop-down in the pop-up.

Attached branch and select the required assets and components from the drop-down in the pop-up.
Alternatively, use the Add Relationship drop-down within the tab to connect or attach the required dependencies. Additionally, you can click Assign/Associate to assign the current asset to the required user/department/site or associate an asset.
In the Assign/Associate pop-up,
- If you choose a department first, the user drop-down will display only users of the chosen department for selection. If you have not selected any user, the asset will be assigned to the entire department. To list all users, you need to clear the chosen department.
- If you choose an associated asset, the user and department field will be disabled. Also, you cannot add attached assets to the relationship map.
- By default, the site field retains the site of the chosen user/department/asset. Disable the check box to choose the required site.
The assigned user/department will be shown in the relationship map under the
Assigned To branch and on the right pane. The associated asset will be shown in the relationship map under the
Associated To branch and on the right pane. Click the edit icon

on the relevant card to change the association.

Associated to Asset on the right pane to view the associated asset's details.
Asset Contracts
View all contracts associated with the asset in the Contracts tab. The key details of the contracts, such as contract name, contract vendor, and the contract period, are displayed here.
- Click the required contract name to view its details.
- Click the gear icon next to the required contract to perform the following:
- Invoke Contract: Invoke the contract to put the contract into effect for the asset and track its usage.
- View Contract Usage: You can view the usage only if the contract is invoked. To learn more about contracts, click here.
Asset Financials
In the Financials tab, you can monitor the asset expenses. The following subtabs are displayed here:
- Costs : Add and view expenses such as purchase cost and operational costs.
- Depreciation : View/configure the product-level/asset-level depreciation for the asset.
Costs
The purchase cost added for the asset will be reflected here.
Click Add Cost to add expenses such as operational costs and disposal costs to the asset. If the purchase cost was not added earlier, you can add here.
The added costs are displayed here. Based on the purchase cost and additional costs, the total cost of ownership is automatically calculated and displayed. The current book value is displayed based on depreciation. To view/configure depreciation, go to the Depreciation subtab.
Depreciation
You cannot configure depreciation for software and consumables.
Product-level/asset-level depreciation configured is displayed here.
If the depreciation is not configured earlier, you can configure it now by clicking Configure Depreciation on the right. You can also configure depreciation from the Actions drop-down on the toolbar.
In the Configure Depreciation pop-up, enter the following:
- The purchase cost and acquisition date added during asset creation will be populated here. If they were not added earlier, specify them now. These fields are mandatory.
- Choose one of the following:
- Choose Use data configured for the product <product_name> to use the product-level depreciation configured in the admin configuration. If not configured earlier, you can configure it now below.
- To configure depreciation for this asset only, choose For this asset. You can also configure depreciation of the asset from the assets list view.
- Choose a depreciation method.
For Declining Balance and Straight Line: You can calculate depreciation based on the useful life of the asset or the decline percent per year.
For Double Declining Balance and Sum of the Years Digit: You can calculate depreciation based on the useful life only.
Fill out the following:
- Useful Life: Enter the life span of the asset in months. For the Sum of the Years Digit method, specify the useful life in years.
- Decline Percent: Enter the depreciation percentage.
- Salvage Value: Enter the total net worth of the asset after it has exhausted its useful life span.
- Click Save.
After you configure depreciation, you can view the key details of the annual and monthly depreciation schedule as shown:
Asset History
Various operations performed on the asset are recorded in the History tab. The historical records are grouped based on their date. You can filter the records of specific periods by using the calendar drop-down on the right.
Subtabs, such as History, State History, and Assignment History, are displayed here:
History: A log of key operations, such as field updates, depreciation changes, etc., are recorded here.
State History: Asset state updates, state comments, and ownership changes are recorded here.
Assignment History: Asset allocation and acknowledgment details are displayed here. You can export the assignment history in the CSV, XLS, or XLSX format.
The subtabs are not available for components, consumables, and software.
Actions
Using the Actions drop-down on the toolbar, you can perform the following:
- Raise Request: Create an incident/service request
- Copy Asset: Create a copy of the asset. The copied asset will be displayed in the list view as Copy of <asset name>.
- Configure Depreciation: Calculate the decrease in asset value over time. Asset depreciation can be calculated at the product level or asset level.
- Update Credentials: Update authentication details used for scanning and discovering assets.
- Modify Product: Change the product of the asset.
- Mark as Loanable: Mark the asset as a loanable item.
- Loan: Extend the asset loan period or return the asset.
Associate Requests to Assets
You can create incident and service requests for IT assets, non-IT assets, and asset components.
- In the Actions drop-down on the details page, click Create Incident to create an incident request or click Create Service Request to create a service request.
- Select the required template and click Create.
- Enter the required details in the form. You can refer here for more information.
- After you fill out the form, click Add Request.
- The new request is logged into the application. You can view it in the Requests module.
Alternatively, you can associate assets to requests while creating a new incident or service request.
In the request list, click New Incident or select a template to create the required request.
In the new incident or new request form, select the requester name. The asset/s associated with the requester is automatically listed in the Assets field.
To add more assets to the request, click the plus icon

in the Assets field. In the
Select Assets pop-up, you can filter assets based on product type and site.
- You can add up to 25 assets to a request. Edits made to asset association will be recorded in the request's history.
- Asset association resets if the requester is changed.
