Azure DevOps Integration

Azure DevOps is a cloud-based platform that provides a suite of tools to help teams plan, develop, test, and deploy applications.
This integration allows you to link requests, changes, and change tasks with Azure DevOps work items and projects. Technicians can also create new work items or projects directly from ServiceDesk Plus MSP Cloud.

Enable Azure DevOps      

Role Required: SDAdmin

To enable Azure DevOps integration,
  1. Go to Setup > Apps & Add-ons > Integrations > Third Party Integrations.
  2. On the Microsoft Azure DevOps card, click the toggle button to enable integration.
 
 

Configure Azure DevOps    

To configure Azure DevOps,
  1. Go to Setup > Apps & Add-ons > Integrations > Third Party Integrations.
  2. On the Microsoft Azure DevOps card, click Configure.
  3. Select the ServiceDesk Plus MSP Cloud Roles that will have access to this integration.
  4. Click Save.

Create or Attach Projects in Azure DevOps    

To create a project in Azure DevOps,
  1. Select the customer.
  2. Select the request, change or change task in which the Azure DevOps work entity should be created.
  3. In the right pane, click Create next to Azure DevOps Work Entity.
  1. Create AzureDevOps Work Entity pop-up appears.
  2. Fill out the following details in the pop-up:
    1. Work Entity - Choose New Project.
    2. Organization - Choose your preferred organization.
    3. Project Process - Select the methodology used in a project such as agile, scrum, CMMI as preferred.
    4. Project Title - Choose a title.
    5. Description - Choose a description.
    6. Visibility - Choose whether the project should be Private or Public.
    7. Version Control - Select the version between Git and Team Foundation Version Control.
  3. Click Create.
To attach a project in Azure DevOps,
  1. Select the customer and select the request, change or change task in which the Azure DevOps Work Entity should be created.
  2. In the right pane, click Attach > Attach New Project next to Azure DevOps Work Entity.
  3. Select your preferred organization and project from the Attach Azure DevOps Work Project pop-up.
  4. Click Associate.
 
 

Create or Attach Work items in Azure DevOps    

To create a work item in an existing project,
  1. Select the customer.
  2. Select the request, change or change task in which the Azure DevOps Work Entity should be created.
  3. In the right pane, click Create next to Azure DevOps Work Entity.
 
  1. AzureDevOps Work Entity pop-up appears.
  2. Fill out the following details in the pop-up:
    1. Work Entity- Choose New Work Item.
    2. Select Organization - Choose your preferred organization.
    3. Select Project - Choose the project to which the work item should be associated.
    4. Enter Title - Enter your preferred title.
    5. Work Item Type - Choose your preferred work item type.
  3. Click Create.
To attach a work item in Azure DevOps,
  1. Select the customer.
  2. Select the request, change or change task in which the Azure DevOps Work Entity should be created.
  3. In the right pane, click Attach > Attach Work Item next to Azure DevOps Work Entity.
  4. Select your preferred organization, project and work item from the Attach Azure DevOps Work item pop-up.
  5. Click Associate.

View Associated Projects and Work Items    

To view the associated projects and work items,
  1. Select the customer.
  2. Select the request, change or change task in which the Azure DevOps Work Entity has been created.
  3. In the right pane, click View Work Item or View Project.

Detach Projects or Work items 

  1. In the right pane, click Detach next to Azure DevOps Work Entity.
  2. Enter the reason for detaching the project or work item.
