Create a New Instance

Create a New Instance

Departments across an organization can create separate service desk instances to offer their services to end-users.
Use Case:  When an organization is setting up ServiceDesk Plus MSP Cloud, each department can be provided a separate service desk instance. This ensure that data specific to a department like users, requests, or assets are not shared with other department users.
Role Required: Organization Admin
  1. Go to ESM Directory > Service Desk Instances.
  2. Click New Instance.
  3. Enter a display for the service desk .
  4. Describe the service desk purpose.
  5. Enter a URL name for the service desk. The URL name can be appended after the application URL to access the service desk directly.
  6. Select the type of service desk - IT Helpdesk, HR, or Facilities.
  7. Select an owner for the service desk who will have access to invite or remove users from the service desk.
  8. Configure access to define who can view the service desk.
  9. Select a custom URL for the service desk. Learn how to set up custom URLs.
  10. Click Create.

After creating the instance, you can quickly go to the instance or perform edit/delete actions from the list view.
